MRS WARREN'S PROFESSION by G.B. Shaw

Drama

Mrs Warren's Profession was written at a time when many people shied away from the majority of political and social issues of the time. In this play, Shaw focuses on the hidden world of prostitution without ever mentioning the word or even spelling it out to the reader/audience. With this he is able to describe the effects it has without drudely embarking on a course of discrimination. It is a powerful peice which shows how women have had influence over the world in all aspects.
