Fiddler on the Roof
Producers:Chris Hutchinson and Suzy Nelson-Pollard
Fiddler on the Roof is set in a small Jewish village called Anatevka on the eve of the Russian revolution in 1905. The story revolves around Tevye (a dairyman, father of five daughters) and his attempts to maintain his religious traditions and keep his family together as the world around him changes. He is searching for appropriate husbands for his three eldest daughters - Tzeitel, Hodel and Chava. In a break of tradition, his daughters refuse to accept the wishes of the matchmaker, Yente, and their father. Instead, they marry men that they love. In the end, the Jews of Anatevka are forced to leave their homes and Tevye is determined to start a better life in a new land.
